Collibus are a five piece progressive metal band from Manchester. Not only have this band played The House of Commons and won the Mike Weatherley MP Discretionary Rock/Metal Award 2013, but their winning track Dead Inside was played on Scuzz and they have spent this summer appearing at a number of major festivals - Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, Wacken Open Air, and Bloodstock Open Air.
Earlier this year, the band released their debut album The False Awakening and have been featured in magazines such as Metal Hammer and Prog Rock and had their songs played on national radio stations such as TeamRock.
Amongst their growing fan base is Queen's very own Brian May, who says of the band:
"Collibus is already a phenomenon. Scary musicianship at the most furious end of the metal spectrum, crowned with Gemma Fox's passion and power as a vocalist. Ouch. Impossible to ignore."
Iced Earth's Luke Appleton is also a fan, saying that Collibus have "Monstrous guitar solos, a grooving rhythm section and a vocalist that just smacks you in the face with melody!"
Collibus are: Gemma Fox on vocals, Stephen Platt on lead guitar, Daniel Mucs on rhythm guitar and R.J. Kershaw on bass.
The False Awakening features 14 high octane tracks:
Lie In Wait
Thoughts In Vain
Break The Silence
The False Awakening

Femetalism was there to witness Collibus play Blookstock Open Air this year and we were blown away by their high energy powerful performance. The atmosphere in the packed Sophie Lancaster tent was incredible. Collibus are definitely a band to keep your eyes on.
The False Awakening is available on CD and digital download at www.collibus.com, Big Cartel, iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
Coming up in the next few weeks we will have an interview with Gemma Fox - can't wait to share it with you! Don't take your eyes off the site!
