The Birthday Massacre are a Canadian band, formed in 1999. They have released six studio albums: Nothing and Nowhere (2002), Violet (2005), Walking With Strangers (2007), Pins and Needles (2010), Hide and Seek (2012), and this week Superstition. The current line-up consists of Chibi (vocals), Falcore (guitars), Rainbow (guitars), Owen (synthesizers), Nate Manor (bass guitar) and Rhim (drums).
The band announced they were working on a new album back in 2013 and at the beginning of 2014, they announced that they would be partly funding it through a crowdfunding project on PledgeMusic in cooperation with their label Metropolis Records. They reached their goal in less than 24 hours.
Mid 2014 and there were announcements regarding a North American tour at the end of 2014 and more excitingly for Femetalism, a UK tour in 2015. It's been 5 years since we saw The Birthday Massacre play live and I'll be honest, it's about time we got another dose of their incredible live music show again! Here's hoping they come to Sheffield.
The Other Side
As always the album art is striking and continues the purple theme. Something I have always loved about The Birthday Massacre is their commitment to their look and sound which is evident in every aspect of their music, delivery and online presence.

You can grab a copy of the album from most online retailers. It's not available in the UK until 24th November, but if you order from Amazon you can download the digital tracks immediately and will receive the CD in the post on the release date.
