Black Mass & Femetalism Presents: Part 3 - South Sea Live, Sheffield, Sunday 16th August 2015

On 16th August 2015, South Sea Live will play host to the next instalment of the hugely successful Black Mass and Femetalism Presents. Yet again, a great line up has been put together and we are really looking forward to another awesome evening.

So, let's have a quick look through that line up!

Tori Lamour

Tori Lamour started playing music at a very young age and by 13 she had decided she wanted to rock the world.  Since then she has gone on to be signed by AMS Management, performs at least 70 times per year and has recently released her debut album Purgatori.

Sertraline formed in August 2014, when Leeds born Lizzie met 4 Stoke-on-Trent locals looking for a singer. They all have very different influences; Funeral For A Friend, Bring Me The Horizon, Marmozets, Asking Alexandria, Tonight Alive, Monuments and Periphery to name but a few. But they share a love for wanting to create something fresh, energetic and memorable. The band set to work writing and recording their debut EP 'Bury The Ghosts' which was released in February 2015. The lead track 'Set The World Alight' has been played on many local & internet radio stations, and other tracks have been featured on 2 local BBC Introducing programmes. Sertraline's music has even made it to internet radio stations in America, which just shows the enormous reach the band has achieved in such a short time.

Pretty Addicted

Pretty Addicted are a GDM band from London. GDM standing for Goth Dance Music, a term coined by the band themselves to describe their messy and dark take on dance music. They essentially provide an alternative style to dance music; taking hard-hitting drums, sinister bass lines, odd noises, breakbeats and an offensive, aggressive, powerful overtone to create the kind of sound that, not only have you not heard before, but that hits you right in the face like a ton of bricks!

Soul Shredder

Sheffield based, Soul Shredder was the brainchild of lead guitarist and songwriter Stu Gibson. First formed as a jamming band back in 2003, it took until February 2009 to achieve a steady line-up and hit the stage, but all the time spent writing songs and perfecting a sound made it a memorable debut. Since that night at 'The Grapes' in Sheffield, and with only a single personnel change, the band has worked hard to keep up the standard and stay true to the music. Influenced by all that's solid and powerful about heavy rock and metal from the 70s onwards, the aim is simple; write some good songs and play them loud! They released their EP back in 2012 and are currently working on material for a new album.

Celestial Wish

Celestial Wish are a Birmingham-based Symphonic Metal act currently consisting of; vocalist Saneeta Ram, guitarist and orchestral composer Daniel Carpenter, bassist Fraser Banks and drummer Michael Brush. Their sound is characterised by the use of powerful orchestration, enchanting synths, soaring vocals, heavy riffs and blistering solos, which all come together to form a sound that takes the listener into their own personal dreamland, where each Celestial Wish comes true, and anything is possible.

Sweet Exile

Leeds based, metal band with a penchant for heavy riffs, fast beats, and melodic vocals. Sweet Exile recently supported Aonia and Alwaid on their UK tour and will be accompanying Ann My Guard on their UK tour in November.

Fire At Dawn

Fire At Dawn are a 5 piece hard rock band from Southend, Essex. A hard working band who within the first 3 months of their formation had amassed a sizeable fan base.  In 2014, the band released a 5 song self-titled EP.

The music is fiery, passionate and haunting with catchy guitar riffs spiced with dazzling chords. The EP is modern, hard rock at its best, with tracks that could easily crossover into both underground and mainstream musical arenas. The lyrics are haunting and eerie and the vocals soft, yet gritty.

Elencia began in late 2014 as an unnamed project between friends Emily Logan, James Taylor and Connor Grant. Adam Wright completed the lineup and immediately the band began to write songs. By the end of the year they had a full set and an EP ready for the year ahead. In the early months of 2015, Elencia began to play shows in Barnsley and Sheffield and in February they went into the studio to record 94 Letters; the debut single. After the success of the single the band are making plans to record the rest of the EP and playing as many shows as possible.

Sarah Stride

A composer since her teens, Sarah Demagistri, aka Sarah Stride, has been active in the Italian independent scene for the past 10 years. In June 2012 she released her first solo album, where she was joined by three of the most interesting rock musicians in the Italian independent scene: NA Alberto Turra (guitars, arrangements, artistic production), William Nicastro (bass) and Antonio Vastola (drums).  The music is an interesting mix with a Mediterranean flavour that encapsulates the dark and relentless songwriting of independent Italian's of the 80s and 90s combined with a retro feel in the vocals typical of the '60s.

Full details of the night can be found on the Facebook Event page. Tickets can be bought in advance for just £4 + booking fee from here.  It's going to be a great night and we will of course be there and hope to see you there too! Keep your eyes peeled as there will be another event later in the year PLUS the Black Mass Festival in October.
