Post Bloodstock 2015 Interview with Dead Label

Here is the next interview in our series of interviews with some of the bands we featured in our Top Picks for Bloodstock 2015 article last week.

Dead Label originate from Celbridge, Ireland and have been performing together since 2008. Made up of Dan O'Grady on bass and vocals, Danny Hall on guitar and Claire Percival on drums. They were contacted back in March by Simon Hall and asked to play the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock, but they then had to keep it quiet until May!

The band recently completed a European tour; playing Aggressive Music Festival in Czech Republic before having shows in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and the UK which was a great way to prepare for Bloodstock. In fact they only got home a week and a half before the festival so had to squeeze in some hard practice before the show.

We managed to see most of the bands set despite clashing with Incipit and the atmosphere in the tent was fantastic. I asked drummer Claire how the set had been for the band.
"The set was better than we could of dreamed of! We were playing at 12.40pm on Sunday, so we were not expecting a full tent, people would be tired etc but we were very wrong! The tent was packed n people loved it! It was over before we knew it!

I also asked how the band had found the whole Bloodstock experience and who they themselves managed to see perform over the weekend.
"It was our first time at Bloodstock, when you're in a band that tours you don't get to attend many festivals unless you are playing. Bloodstock is the perfect metal festival. It's easy to get around, it's fun, it's friendly! The choice of bands is also amazing! There is something to suit everybody! I will be returning whether we play or not. We caught Trivium on Friday! That was cool, as we are big fans. We also saw Godsized, Black Label Society n Rob Zombie. Rob Zombie stole the show for me. What a performance!"

The band are now looking forward to performing two shows with Gojira before playing with Heart of a Coward and Beholder.  They are also heading out on another European tour.  If that wasn't enough, the band are releasing their new album Throne of Bones very soon!
