Holy Spider Promotions in Association with Femetalism Present: Mist, Kurokuma, Northern Oak and The Miser on the Faerie Gump

On September 22nd Holy Spider Promotions will be bringing an epic night of doom and folk to the Rocking Chair in Sheffield and we at Femetalism are extremely pleased to have been asked to get involved. Mist from Slovenia will be visiting Sheffield as part of a fairly limited UK tour and they will be playing alongside some of the best music Sheffield has to offer in the form of Kurokuma, Northern Oak and The Miser On The Faerie Gump.

The fantastic event poster was designed by TJ Fairfax, and prints of it will be available to purchase on the night.  It's going to be an epic evening.

Full details of the event can be found on the Facebook event page and tickets are just £5 on the door.

Mist are a doom metal band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, formed in July 2012. They build their music on the legacy of legendary bands like Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Candlemass, Coven and Saint Vitus. They released their first demo recording, Demo 2013, in November 2014 which has been re-issued on CD three times due to great interest. They have also received many promising reviews and radio airplays from all over the globe. Even though they are a young band they have already had a chance to support some great acts and tour all over Europe.

Local band Kurokuma play a brand of doom/sludge that they describe as "the crushing weight of a world ending, a desolate hallucinatory trip through dystopia" and have been labelled the heaviest band in Sheffield. They released a 2 track demo last year, and since have been gigging heavily all over the place to great acclaim, supporting bands such as Skeletonwitch and Conan.

Northern Oak

Northern Oak, Sheffield's own purveyors of folk metal and fine attire, have been spending time in the studio lately recording Triptych, a follow-up EP to last year's Of Roots And Flesh. But they're back out now, and bringing their unique blend of folk and black metal to the people. For one night only vocalist Martin Collins will be absent, and Joe Stamps (Hecate Enthroned, Lacrota) will be stepping up. Even if you've seen Northern Oak a thousand times before (like, er, we have) this will be something new!

The Miser On The Faerie Gump

The Miser on the Faerie Gump are a Sheffield based classic prog metal comedy band, comprising drums, bass, violin, guitar and vocals. Their influences include Bonzo Dog Do Da Band, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd.
