With just a month to go until the last ever Valkyrian Festival to be held at The Riverside and The Venue in Selby, Yorkshire, we are starting to get just a little bit excited here at Femetalism.
As official sponsors of the event we thought it appropriate to feature, in no particular order, some of the bands that will be making up the festival line-up.
Today we have selected Dakesis who will be performing on the Valhalla Stage.
Dakesis are a four piece progressive, power metal band from Birmingham, UK formed in 2008, who mix European power metal influences with home-grown heavy metal, a heavy dose of tongue–in-cheek cheese and a fair dash of contemporary prog to create a unique blend of modern melodic metal.
The band have released a self-titled EP and also released their debut album Trial By Fire in 2011 after 2 years of dedicated work. The album was self-funded and released on the bands own label CapsAArx records. They have also toured the UK extensively and have amassed a loyal following. They are currently working on their long awaited next album release.
The band's appearance at Valkyrian Festival is part of a four day UK tour called Sheildmaidens Arise supporting French melodic metallers Heonia.
