Mingmen released their third album, in March 2014 which was recorded LIVE at Relief Studios in Fribourg. It reveals the uniquely individual personalities of the four musicians and their Metal compositions with unexpected hints of rock, blues and progressive.
Since Undercontrol was released in 2006, then Back to the Ground in 2009, numerous concerts and a Brazilian Tour in 2011, the evolution and growth of the band doesn't cease to amaze.
Now, lead vocalist and co-founder of the band, Sway talks to Femetalism about the band, their creativity, their desire for 'real' music and what they plan for the future.

Modern Progressive metal band Dead Light Shines hail from Phoenix, AZ and are made up of Stephen Mallicoat on drums, Norm Wall on guitars and arrangements, Kelly Morales on bass and Janette Martyn on vocals. They released their debut album Fall To Rise at the end of 2014 after a decade of effort on the part of Norm and Kelly, working with their past members and also guest musicians. The result is an album rich and delicate showcasing each musician individually whilst also blending them perfectly together. There are some really lovely catchy elements and the progressive influence is evident throughout. My favourite tracks are Lost in You and Too Deep.

In 2014, we featured lots of pretty awesome bands in our Thursday special posts. Although popular, none of the articles were as popular as the feature we did on Thrash Metal band Cripper. They scooped the most popular post on the website for 2014 beating all of the other posts on the site hands down. Over Christmas, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to talk to Cripper about the band, their new album their 70,000 Tonnes of Metal experience and much, much more in this here interview.

This year Femetalism was privileged to meet and connect with loads of fantastic artists and devoted music fans. We were able to spread the female metal music scene far and wide, connecting fans with bands and vice versa. We have been able to build a platform from which people can learn more about women in metal as well as more about the underground metal music that exists everywhere. We also made a lot of wonderful new friends! It has been an incredible year and one that we hope we can grow from in 2015.
